Aqua Nova ceramic rings are packed in a sealed plastic bag to avoid unnecessary mess, and also comes in a Aqua Nova fine filter bag, this makes it easy to use in any filter. The net has a zipper so you can adjust the amounts of ceramic rings in the net.
These rings have a large amount of open area (this is inside the holes of each piece inside the box). This allows an ideal supply of the anaerobic bacteria with nutrients and a small amount of water. There are oxygen pockets within the rings. This oxygen affects the bacteria and protects the nitrate to get enought oxygen. Hence, they continuously break down nitrate, and the aquarium water remains low in nitrate.
Note: ceramic rings should not be used while the aquarium fish are being treated with any form of medication.
